![]() Moreover, Bev’s approach, her style, her humility and her overall compassion for people with diabetes is palpable. However, having Bev’s course readily accessible while on the train to work watching the courses, in bite-size lectures, or listening as a podcast/audio recording and also taking a few of the courses live was so helpful, not just for exam preparation but for my practice as a diabetes care and education specialist. Thank you so very much for your dedication to those of us looking to change the world in some small way.Īs a busy mom with 3 kids(5, 2.5, and 1 year old) I don’t really have much time. ![]() Gandhi once said, “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I believe we are on the right track. Thank you Beverly and Bryanna for being a special part of this new chapter. I am so proud and pleased to have done so. I passed the exam June 2023 the first time around. I truly feel Coach Beverly’s courses were a great part of finishing that step to attaining certification. There’s so much we can do for PWD and I am proud and honored to be among the international team devoted to this challenge and journey. skill, love, and dedication, and yet somehow, it feels like it’s another new beginning. ![]() It has been my honor to have served my communities with 40 years of knowledge. This was the best thing I could have done, to polish the years of effort and work that deserved the cherry on the top, certification. Most recently I decided to sign on to Diabetes Education courses with Coach Beverly. There were a lot of ups and down with my own personal journey that delayed sitting for the exam, but my passion never lapsed. I took a new pathway and became a Diabetes Educator and opened /directed two in-patient outpatient clinics. I continued by volunteering with cancer patients, studying online, and advancing my degree, eventually returning to work and expanding my love for healthcare to a new level. During that time, I made a conscious effort to stay connected to another love in my life, caring for others. The last 12 years of my 40-year career in nursing I have spent fighting cancer and recovering from the sudden loss of my beloved best friend and husband. “If you can dream it you can do it” Walt Disney All things we need to be talking about more! Thank you for everything, and I can’t wait to see where my career goes from here! I have already had 2 interviews since passing the exam! I loved all the practice tests and found those to be extremely helpful! I think I could have passed the exam a few months prior to when I took it, but I wanted to be extra prepared! Honestly, I don’t know if you ever feel completely prepared for an exam of this level but that is OKAY because you don’t need to get 100% questions correct, you just need to pass! I had to let the perfectionist in me go! I really loved all the content and just want to really thank coach Beverly, especially how she highlights things like reducing shame, health at every size, and the impacts of racism on care. I also made a sort of puzzle to make a game out of matching meds to their class. In addition to the webinars, podcasts, and cheat sheets I made TONS of flash cards which I have always found to be the best way to memorize lots of dense information. I think I probably listened to the meds management webinar about 5 times! I felt so confident in this area during the exam due to all the repetition. I was only able to make 1 of the live classes so I was glad they are all uploaded to watch on demand. I loved that it was self-paced so I could study on my own time over about 6 months. Hello! I wanted to share the news that I have passed my exam! These courses and Coach Beverly were essential to my success.
